Thursdays at 10am if you are lucky enough to be on base and available to sneak off to the galley - it's fresh, warm buttermilk biscuits served with whipped honey butter!

FISH TRAPS

Still waiting for our vehicle - we decide to make holding cages for the soon to be caught fish. We used wire cutters after the pieces were awkwardly measured out.

One piece down ... several to go. We'll simply connect them with zip ties and submerge the individual units into the holding tank on the bottom phase (or floor) of the lab where fresh sea water is continuously pumped in directly from the jetty area just off of the island and allowed to flow out at an equal rate so the fish stay as happy as can be and at the proper temperature, salinity, pH etc.

We have caged our boss in his office. He seemed mildly entertained - but also accepting of the circumstances: A slave to science...

I attempt to take pictures of us while carrying a large and weighty 1 of 3 pieces we've constructed and walking down 3 stories of the building at the same time.

I have successfully included both individuals within one shot - while moving - demonstrating my obvious talent...

Our tank is marked clearly - Bravo 308 led by Dr. Brad Buckley so as to avoid confusion of any sort I suppose. The space is filled with tanks and experiments running simultaneously by multiple science groups.

After transporting all of the pieces to the lower level of the lab - we finalized construction and submerge them into our holding tank. We have three main segregated cages to identify catch location for data collection purposes.
